RYA Instructors
The aim of the RYA dojo is to foster the teaching and development of Aikido.
All instructors are certified with the Yoshinkai Aikido Foundation and have received intensive training at the Yoshinkan Aikido World Headquarters dojo in Tokyo.
Together they have over 60 years of experience in Aikido. All instructors have also participated in demonstrations and tours in Japan and internationally.

5th Degree black belt is a co-founder of the RYA dojo. He began training in 1984 in Canada. In 1993 he decided to focus on his Aikido and came to Japan to participate in the 3rd International Instructor’s Course. Following the course stayed on as an assistant instructor and was promoted to Itaku Shidoin in 1995. He's been here ever since. 五段: 1984年カナダ・オンタリオにて合気道を<め<。 |
Saori Watanabe 渡辺 さおり |
3rd Degree black belt She began training at the RYA dojo in 2004. Before that she had no interest in martial arts and had never imagined herself wearing a dogi or a black belt. She was awarded her instructor’s certificate in 2013.
